Under the patronage of Her Royal Highness, Princess Mathilde of Belgium, we are a voluntary organization and registered charity, which is quickly becoming a vital link for both families and institutions that provide services to children and young people with learning difficulties. Such learning difficulties may be linked to dyslexia, epilepsy, autism, etc.
An ever-increasing number of people in Europe live outside their country of origin. Many of these people - adults and children - form part of an estimated 10% of Europeans who have some form of learning difficulty. For these people, living in a country where the education system is not in their mother tongue, finding help can be complex.
ECOC was established in 1993 to organize help. Whilst we are primarily active in Brussels, we have an extensive network of connections with like-minded organizations across Europe, particularly in France, Luxembourg, Germany and the Netherlands. We emphasize the opportunities that high quality learning support brings to all children, and how schools, teachers, and parents contribute to schools that offer learning and development opportunities to all.
Our role is to ensure that information, resources, useful links, and a place for discussion is available to everyone that needs it, internationally.
Do Contact Us with your feedback and comments, they are appreciated.
